MAKKAH – The Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has denied reports about the discovery of a new spring associated with the Zamzam Well, Makkah daily reported.

Ahmad Al-Mansouri, spokesman for the presidency, said the spring shown in a viral video circulating on social media was part of an old well, which has nothing to do with the Zamzam Well.

The newly discovered spring is located 40 meters from the natural sources of the Zamzam Well, which is located 20 meters east of the Kaaba.

Video footages of the spring was purportedly posted by a worker engaged in the ongoing digging work near the Zamzam Well claiming that it was a newly discovered source of Zamzam
