- Health measures stepped up at Prophet’s Mosque
Sunday, February 14, 2021
Authorities have stepped up anti-coronavirus measures at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah to protect worshippers and prevent the spread of the disease, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The General Presidency of the Affairs of the Prophet’s Mosque intensified the precautionary and preventive measures in the women’s sections.
Field teams are carrying out round the clock cleaning and disinfection programs on floors and carpets inside the prayer areas and squares, using environmentally friendly sanitizers and detergents that do not affect people’s health.
These programs are also in place at ablution sites — before and after prayers — and are carried out 10 times a day.
Women’s offices and the stairs leading to them are also undergoing disinfection, and workers are obliged to follow and maintain personal protection measures by wearing gloves to ensure everyone’s safety.
The precautionary measures taken by employees of the women’s section include removing big Zamzam water containers and replacing them with Zamzam water bottles.
