Wednesday, February 1, 2023
The government has finalized Tk6,83,018 hajj package this year under government management which is around Tk96,000-Tk1,00,000 more than that of 2022.
State Minister for Religious Affairs Faridul Haque Khan announced the hajj package after a meeting with the executive committee on hajj management at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
On the same day, the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (Haab), a platform of private hajj tour operators, said they will announce its hajj package rate under private management at a press conference on Thursday.
This year, the government announced one hajj package instead of two packages under government management.
Previous year the packages were Tk5,86,340 under package-1 and Tk5,21,150 under package-2.
However, each hajj pilgrim will have to spend an additional amount of around Tk20,000 for Qurbani (sacrifice).
This year, 1,27,198 people from Bangladesh will be able to perform hajj.
Among them, 15,000 people will be able to go under government management while 1,12,198 people under private management to perform hajj.
