MAKKAH — Attorney General and Chairman of the Public Prosecution Council Sheikh Saud Bin Abdullah Al-Mujab has inaugurated the Hajj and Umrah Prosecution next to the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
Al-Mujab stressed the importance of immediately ending the criminal cases handled by the Hajj and Umrah Prosecution, and taking into account the protected interests in accelerating termination of cases.
Additionally, he stressed the need to activate the measures that would contain behaviors that do not affect the serenity of Hajj or Umrah, and do not prejudice national security or the sanctity of the Holy site, in accordance with the law.
Al-Mujab emphasized the sanctity of the felony against Hajj and Umrah pilgrims in all its forms, and the exploitation of religious rites or holy sites, which is considered one of the cases that requires the Public Prosecution to impose the most severe penalties against the accused.
He referred to the great care and interest that Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman attach to the holy sites and its visitors of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
He cited, in addition, the fair regulations approved by Saudi Arabia, which would protect and preserve the Grand Mosque’s visitors and taking into account their interests.
The Hajj and Umrah Prosecution is concerned with the judicial protection of these two rituals, and the Grand Mosque visitors, in addition to initiating penal procedures related to criminal offenses that would violate these rituals, or a felony against the Holy Mosque.
Moreover, the prosecution will ensure that the Hajj and Umrah pilgrims enjoy the rights and guarantees guaranteed to them by law.
