Mogadishu (HOL) — Somali Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has announced the timetable and regulations for the 1448 AH/2027 Hajj season, urging prospective pilgrims to register early and warning against using unlicensed travel operators.
In a statement issued Monday, the ministry said the new arrangements follow the Saudi government's release of the official Hajj calendar and are intended to ensure the timely preparation of services for Somali pilgrims.

The ministry instructed all Somalis intending to perform Hajj in 2027 to register immediately through licensed Hajj service providers.
"All citizens who wish to perform the Hajj pilgrimage are required to register immediately and submit their passports together with an advance payment of $2,000 to Hajj service companies authorized by the ministry," the statement said.
The ministry also directed licensed Hajj companies to provide comprehensive services, including transportation, accommodation, meals and medical care, and to sign formal contracts with pilgrims clearly outlining the rights and responsibilities of both parties.
Officials said all Hajj arrangements will be managed through an electronic registration system, with authorized companies required to enter pilgrims' information into the digital platform to facilitate processing and coordination.
The ministry warned the public not to deal with individuals or companies operating without official authorization, saying only licensed providers will be permitted to organize Hajj services for Somali pilgrims.
It added that the official cost of Hajj packages for the 1448 AH/2027 season will be announced after the completion of an ongoing evaluation of service costs.
Each year, thousands of Somalis travel to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam. Somali authorities coordinate with Saudi officials and licensed travel companies to organize transportation, accommodation and other logistical arrangements for the annual pilgrimage.
