The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has set August 31 as the deadline for pilgrims to submit passports for the 2027 hajj.
The director-general of the board, Abubakar Ibrahim-Matawalle, disclosed this in a statement signed by the board’s public relations officer, Sulaiman Dederi, on Tuesday in Kano.
“The deadline for uploading pilgrims’ passport details remains August 31,” Mr Ibrahim-Matawalle said.
He urged the over 700 intending pilgrims whose biometric data had been captured to collect their passports from the Nigerian Immigration Service office for onward submission to the board.
“The passports, belonging to pilgrims whose biometric data have been captured, are ready for collection. Pilgrims should collect theirs without delay to enable the board to upload their details into the server and commence necessary processing for the Hajj exercise,” he advised.
He warned that failure to collect and submit passports promptly could affect the timely completion of pilgrims’ documentation and other hajj preparations.
Mr Ibrahim-Matawalle commended NIS for its cooperation and support in successfully processing passports for the state’s intending pilgrims. He urged all intending pilgrims to meet the stipulated deadline and complete their documentation promptly.
